Clean rooms keep members.
People cancel a membership over a grimy shower long before they cancel over a missing machine. Fieldstone cleans fitness centers across the Bay Area and the Sacramento region, from full-size clubs to a single studio above a storefront, so every workout begins in a room that smells clean and looks cared for.
From a 24-hour club in San Jose to a cycling studio in Sacramento or a boutique gym in Walnut Creek, locker rooms and showers decide whether members renew.
Locker rooms and showers first.
We start where members are pickiest. Shower walls and floors are scrubbed, drains are cleared of hair, soap scum is worked out of tile and grout, and fixtures are dried so mineral spots never get a foothold. Benches, locker faces, handles and vanity tops are wiped, and floors are mopped and dried one section at a time.
Toilets, urinals, sinks and stall partitions are cleaned and disinfected, mirrors are polished, and soap, paper and liners are restocked, with supplies we provide or from your own stock. Private changing rooms and family restrooms each get a full reset, including the hooks, benches and door hardware inside, so the last room on the corridor looks as good as the first.
The workout floor, piece by piece.
Equipment cleaning follows a set route so nothing is missed: treadmill and elliptical consoles, bike seats and handlebars, rower handles, cable attachments, selector pins, seat and back pads, benches, barbell sleeves and dumbbell racks. Kettlebells and medicine balls go back to their shelves wiped clean.
Rubber flooring is vacuumed to lift chalk and grit, then damp-mopped with a pH-neutral cleaner that won’t leave the surface slick. Turf sled lanes are vacuumed, and hard floors in the cardio area are scrubbed. Heavier machine scrubbing and burnishing come through commercial floor care on a night you pick, and carpeted offices and lounges are refreshed with carpet cleaning.
Studios, glass and the front desk.
Yoga, pilates, cycling and barre rooms are cleaned after the final class: mirror walls, ballet barres, reformer frames, bike frames and the studio floor, finished so the room is ready for a dawn session. Climbing gyms get the matting below the walls, the bouldering area floor and the benches cleaned around the holds and ropes.
At the entrance, the check-in desk, scanners, retail or smoothie counter and lobby seating are wiped down, glass doors and interior partitions are cleared of handprints, and entry mats are vacuumed. Staff rooms, offices and the coaching area round out the route, with counters, appliances and bins taken care of.
Built around member hours.
Clubs that close overnight get a full clean after closing time. Boutique studios with an evening schedule are cleaned after the last class lets out, and clubs with a 5 a.m. crowd can book an early-morning visit that finishes before the doors open.
Round-the-clock clubs stay open while we work. Shower rooms are cleaned one at a time with signs at the door, the workout floor is done in sections, and the heaviest tasks are saved for the quietest stretch of the night, so no member is turned away.
For the after-work rush, a day porter keeps restrooms stocked, wipes equipment between users and keeps locker room floors dry while the club is packed.
Clubs, studios and fitness rooms.
Fieldstone cleans big-box and 24-hour clubs, functional-fitness boxes, yoga, pilates, cycling and barre studios, climbing gyms and martial arts academies. Each plan is written around the floor you actually have, whether that is rubber tile, sprung hardwood, puzzle mats or polished concrete.
We also clean fitness rooms inside office campuses, the gym in an apartment community’s clubhouse and physical therapy gyms. Apartment fitness rooms fold into the same routine as the property’s apartment common areas, and disinfection rounds for high-touch equipment can be added on their own schedule.
What sets the price of gym cleaning.
Gym cleaning is priced on how big the facility is and how hard members use it. What matters most is the floor area, how often the crew comes each week, the locker rooms, showers and restrooms in the building, the studios and equipment zones you operate, your hours (including 24-hour access), the flooring and any porter time.
The walkthrough happens at a quiet hour, and the written plan that follows lists each area, its tasks and its frequency, with porter time and floor work priced separately.
A few useful answers
Common questions.
Will members be asked to leave while you clean?
No. Clubs that stay open are cleaned in zones, one shower room or floor section at a time, so members keep working out while the crew moves through the building.
Do you clean reformers and spin bikes in boutique studios?
Yes. Reformer frames, straps and carriages, spin bike seats, handlebars and frames are wiped down after the last class, along with mirrors, barres and the floor.
How do you keep shower rooms from smelling musty?
Drains are cleared of hair, grout and tile are scrubbed of soap film, floors are dried rather than left wet, and vents and corners are dusted so moisture has nowhere to linger.
Can an apartment fitness room be added to our common-area cleaning?
Yes. The fitness room’s machines, mirrors and floor join the common-area routine and are cleaned on the same nights as the lobby, mailroom and hallways.
How soon after our last class can the studio be cleaned?
Right after it ends. Studios with evening classes book a visit that begins once the room empties, so it is ready before the first morning session.
