Everything sits at knee height.

Cleaning for young children starts from a lower eye level than any office needs. Tables are low, chairs are tiny, sinks and toilets are sized for small hands, and the floor is where much of the day happens: circle time, block building, snack spills and naps. A smudge on a low window or a sticky patch of carpet is right where children spend their time, and parents notice it while they zip up jackets at the end of the day.

Fieldstone plans the evening clean for daycares, preschools and early education rooms around that reality. Your director walks the building with us, points out the rooms and surfaces that matter most to the staff, and the plan we write lists them task by task.

Classrooms and play areas.

Once the last family heads out, classrooms are emptied of trash and reset. Low tables and chairs are wiped, art-table messes and dried glue are scraped up, cubby tops and shelf fronts are dusted, and the fingerprints along low glass and door panels are polished off. Every rug and stretch of carpet gets a full vacuuming, while vinyl and tile take a sweep and a damp mop, leaving the room set for tomorrow’s first arrivals.

Teachers keep their own rhythm for toys and learning materials during the day. The crew works on the surfaces the staff leaves clear, and anything set out for tomorrow’s activity stays where it is.

Changing tables, small restrooms and sinks.

The rooms with the most use per square foot get the most time. Each changing station, plus the counter it sits on, is washed and then disinfected, diaper bins are emptied and relined, and the wall and floor around each station are wiped down. Child-size toilets, handwashing sinks, faucets and mirrors get a full clean, and the floors are mopped corner to corner.

Paper towels, soap and liners can be refilled from your own stock or supplied by us through our janitorial supplies service, so dispensers are full when the first class washes up. For a periodic top-to-bottom restroom job beyond the nightly routine, see our restroom deep cleaning.

Nap rooms, kitchens and the parent entry.

Nap rooms collect lint, crumbs and dust under the stacked cots or mats, so the floor there is vacuumed or mopped every visit with the bedding left in the staff’s hands. The kitchen or snack prep area gets its counters, sinks, appliance fronts and floor cleaned so staff can start breakfast without wiping down first.

The entry is where parents form their opinion each morning. The sign-in counter, door glass, push bars, stroller parking and the waiting bench are cleaned nightly, and the walk-off mats are vacuumed so the sand from the playground stays out of the classrooms.

Cleaners parents and directors can trust.

Every Fieldstone cleaner is background checked before receiving keys or an alarm code, and the work happens after hours, once children have gone home. We are bonded and insured, workers’ compensation is in place for every cleaner, and supervisors return to the building to inspect the work against the written plan.

That gives a director something concrete to tell families who ask who is in the building at night. When a teacher spots something that was missed, a quick call or a note through our contact form puts it on the next visit’s list, and the supervisor looks at that spot on the following inspection. Rooms that change use, such as a classroom turned into a toddler room, get their task list rewritten so the plan keeps matching the building.

Floor care for a center that never takes summer off.

Unlike a school, many childcare centers run all year, so there is no long break for heavy work. Carpet extraction, tile scrubbing and strip-and-refinish are scheduled for weekends or the days the center closes for holidays, with rooms back in order before families return. Hot-water carpet extraction in the reading corner and the main play rooms lifts what nightly vacuuming leaves in the fibers.

Centers in neighborhoods, churches and office campuses.

Childcare in the Bay Area and the Sacramento region comes in many building types: standalone centers in residential neighborhoods, preschools sharing a church building, and on-site centers attached to office campuses. A preschool in a church hall shares its rooms with Sunday activities, while an employer-run center keeps office-park hours, and each plan is written around the building’s own week.

A first visit after closing is all it takes to begin. Book a walkthrough of your center and we will set a time to see your rooms.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

What time would your crew be inside our center?

Once the classrooms are empty and the teachers have gone, which for most centers means the evening. Centers that close late can be cleaned in the early morning instead, finishing well before the first drop-off.

Who is in our building at night, and how are they screened?

Fieldstone cleaners, each one background checked before holding keys or an alarm code for your building. Supervisors also come back to inspect the work on a regular schedule.

Do you clean the changing tables and the child-size toilets?

Yes. Changing stations, the surrounding counters and walls, child-size toilets, handwashing sinks and diaper bins are all on the nightly list.

We are open year-round. When can the carpets be deep cleaned?

On a weekend or a holiday closure. Extraction and floor refinishing are booked for those days so the rooms are dry and set up again before children come back.

Can we change the plan if we add a classroom?

Yes. A new room is added to the written plan with its own tasks and nights, and the next quote reflects the change.

Tell us about your building. We’ll take it from there.
